Scotland’s Euro 2024 ended in heartbreak for their supporters as Hungary scored a late game-winner. Hungary crushed Scotland’s campaign by scoring a 100th minute winner sealing a 1-0 victory. The match seemed to be goalless on a stretch until Hungary’s spectacular late goal changed Scotland’s fate.

Scotland needed a win to advance to the Knockout stage of Euro 2024. From the kickoff, both teams struggled with their form and rhythm. However, throughout the game Scotland dominated possession. With possession of 70% Scotland failed to find the back of the net due to a lack of control and edge near goals.

The game went on very physically as John McGinn was fouled multiple times. Hungary on the other hand showcased their counter-attacking tactics. The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw with a lack of goal-scoring opportunities. Hungary’s Roland Sallai’s stomp on Jack Hendry’s chest highlighted the tense and physical nature of the game.
