Denmark and Serbia played out on a goalless draw in their final rough stage match at Euro 2024. The 0-0 draw paved the way for Denmark to qualify for the round of 16 in their group with second position. While on the other Serbia Serbia got kicked out of the tournament.
Since the start, Denmark withheld possession and created multiple chances throughout. However, the Danes struggled to convert the goal-scoring opportunities. The first half of the game went on as a stale show with nothing much to offer.
On the other hand, Denmark’s Christian Eriksen set a record for the 133rd international l cap. He was instrumental in building up the attack but failed to break through and earn a hit. Eriksen’s shot was saved by Serbai’s talented goalkeeper, Predrag Rajkovic. Rasmus Hojlund’s goal was also disallowed and Jonas WInd missed one of the important chances.]Wind missed the golden opportunity by shooting the ball over the bar from very close range.

Serbia’s dire efforts to secure the knockout spot of Euro 2024
Serbia kept on pushing and high pressing with hopes of advancing into the knockout stages of Euro 2024. One of the lackluster performances was of Serbia’s key player, Aleksandar Mitrovic, who turned out to be very underperforming struggling to get a hold of the ball. The fans and supporters showed frustration as the match went on. Some fans even started throwing beer cups onto the pitch displaying their frustration.
The second half began with a tactical alteration in Serbia’s lineup. Stojkovic brought up Dusan Tadic and Luke Jovic to bring up the spark in the gameplay. Soon after, Tadic was involved in an own goal by Denmarks’s Joachim Andersen which was disallowed for being offside. As the game concluded, the Serbian frustration was evident as their efforts were all in vain.
Denmark’s goalie remained unbothered. With the final whistle, Serbia’s Euro 2024 came to an end as Denmark collected enough points in earlier games to advance. The result also inserted another complication as Denmark secured a position above Slovenia due to UEFA regulations although both the teams have the same points and statistics.
