Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December 2022 following a tumultuous end to his second stint with Manchester United, has been a standout performer for the Saudi club. Since his arrival, Ronaldo has made 71 appearances, scoring an impressive 64 goals and providing 17 assists, cementing his status as one of the top players in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo’s current contract with Al Nassr is set to expire in June 2025. However, recent reports suggest that the club has initiated discussions for a contract extension, with the 39-year-old Portuguese star eager to continue his career at Al Nassr. His goal? To play until at least the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he hopes to represent Portugal once again.

When asked about his future, Ronaldo hinted at the possibility of retiring in Saudi Arabia, expressing contentment with both his club and life in the country. “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years,” Ronaldo shared in a recent interview. “But probably I will retire here at Al Nassr. I’m very happy at this club. I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia, and I want to continue.”

Ronaldo also revealed that when he does retire from international football, it will be a personal decision, made quietly without prior announcement. “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance, and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part but also a very well-thought-out one.”

His current form shows no signs of slowing down. Ronaldo has already netted six goals and delivered two assists this season, with four goals coming in league action. His continued dominance on the pitch is likely one of the driving factors behind Al Nassr’s eagerness to extend his stay.

While Ronaldo’s legendary career has spanned major clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, he seems poised to conclude his journey in Saudi Arabia, where he continues to thrive on the global stage.
