Last weekend, new manager Ruben Amorim left the 27-year-old out of United’s matchday squad for his third consecutive Premier League game, which they lost 3-0 to Bournemouth. The Cherries defeated United at Old Trafford for their second season in a row, and the day was summed up by Amorim’s post-match statement being cut short by a leaking ceiling in the press room.

With the January transfer window opening in just a few days, United will be actively looking to move Rashford, a decision that they hope will allow them to spend some money next month to help enhance the squad at Amorim’s disposal and capture the decline that has seen them drop to 13th in the table. However, despite the likelihood that his United career is over, Rashford appears on the front of their 2025 calendar and is a player featured for the month of January.

Marcus Rashford’s Man United career appears to be all but over

According to a Sun source, Rashford’s future at the club is uncertain, and he may not be here when the transfer window opens in just over a week. At the very least, he is the face of January, and he is unlikely to be around for much longer.

🚨 Amorim on if the Rashford situation is big distraction: “No, I don’t think so. Not for me, not the other players”

However, with Rashford reportedly earning £350,000 per week, it appears unlikely that any club could or would want to take on his full salary in January. Following his 30-goals 2022/23 season, the 27-year-old signed a new long-term contract until 2028, a decision that has since appeared to be an appallingly bad deal for United. Rashford wants to leave the club where he’s spent all of his playing time. On the weekend, after being left out of United’s miraculous derby day victory over Manchester City, he delivered an interview in which he stated that he was ready for “a new challenge”.
