Marco Rose extends his contract with RB Leipzig until 2026

RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has further extended his contract with the club. He will now stay at his hometown club until 2026. The contract was due in 2025, but a good stint with the team will allow him to serve the club for another year.

Rose was appointed as the new RB Leipzig coach in September 2022 after a one-year stint with German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund in the 2021/22 season. He started his journey at the Red Bull Arena with a win over his former club, Borussia Dortmund.

Rose led RB Leipzig to a third-place finish in the Bundesliga 2022/23 season and the DFB-Pokal title in 2023. A Super Cup victory followed in the next season. Known for his active and dynamic managerial style, the 47-year-old helped his club finish fourth in Bundesliga 2023/24 and book their place for yet another Champions League.

His consistent performances motivated the club to continue for another season. Rose is termed as the most successful coach for RB Leipzig, with a top-flight points average of 2.01.

“I’m from here and feel at home in the city and the region.” – Marco Rose on his coaching RB Leipzig

Marco Rose’s success rate with his hometown club has been nothing short of remarkable. He has led them to 56 wins in 89 games at a win percentage of 62.92.

“I’m happy that we’re continuing together. I’m from here and feel at home in the city and the region. It’s a lot of fun with my boys, with the staff, with all the employees in the club and of course with our fans,” said Marco Rose (via Bundesliga).

Rose further added about his current success with the club and his desire for more going forward.

“Since I was able to start at RB Leipzig, we have defended the DFB Cup together and won the Supercup. The club is working in the background to put together a strong team again. We feel that there’s more to it, and we always want more. We are ambitious, we remain ambitious, and we look forward together,” added Rose.
