Slovakia moved to the second position in the Euro 2024 Group E Points Table following a 1-0 victory over Belgium on Monday, June 17. They have three points and a goal difference of one, scoring a goal and conceding none.

Meanwhile, Romania are placed atop the Euro 2024 Group E Points Table with three points. They have a goal difference of three, courtesy of a 3-0 victory against Ukraine.

Belgium are Ukraine are placed third and fourth, respectively with zero points each. Both teams lost their season openers and have a goal difference of -1 and -3, respectively. With just a couple of games left, both nations will look to register a victory in their upcoming encounter.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the next round of the competition. The Round of 16 will see the two best teams from each group compete for a place in the quarter-finals.

Romania thrash Ukraine 3-0; Belgium loses to Slovakia

Romania defeated Ukraine 3-0 to start their UEFA Euro 2024 campaign with a bang at the Allianz Arena. Nicolae Stanciu opened the scoring for Romania in the 23rd minute of the game to hand his side a 1-0 lead.

Razavan Marin (53′) and Denis Dragus (57′) scored a goal apiece in the second half to guide the Tricolours to a victory. Romania had five out of their nine shots on target, while Ukraine could manage only two shots on target.

Despite having 72% possession, 591 passes, and a pass accuracy of 87%, Ukraine failed to put up a show against Romania.

On the other hand, Slovakia edged past Belgium in a thrilling contest at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany. Ivan Schranz scored the only goal of the match in the seventh minute to help Slovakia beat Belgium 1-0.

A closely fought contest went in favour of the Slovak Falcons.
