The UEFA Nations League 2024-25 is getting underway on Thursday, September 5, and fans of international football will be eager to catch the biggest stars in the game like Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal dazzle viewers with their magic on the field.

Other than testing yourself against the best footballing nations in Europe, the UEFA Nations League 2024-25 will also give the teams a chance to bag a hefty chunk of the prize money as a result of their performances in the tournament.

While the exact prize money for the UEFA Nations League 2024-25 is yet to be disclosed, it is expected to be in line with or even greater than last year’s offer, where the title winner Spain received 10.5 million euros (about ₹97.77 crores) and runner-up Croatia got 9 million euros (about ₹83.80 crore).

Third-placed Italy received 8 million euros (about ₹74.48 crore), and fourth-placed Netherlands got 7 million euros (about ₹65.18 crore).

What is the participation prize money in the UEFA Nations League 2024-25?

Other than the lucrative prize money on offer for the winners and runners-up, there is also a significant amount of prize money for teams to participate in the UEFA Nations League 2024-25. While teams participating in League A get 1.5 million euros (about ₹14 crore) each, the amount decreases as one goes down the ladder.

Teams participating in League B get 1 million euros (about ₹9.30 crore), while teams in League C get 750,000 euros (about ₹7 crore). Teams in the lowest League D get 500,000 euros (about ₹4.65 crore) each.

With such mouth-watering incentives on offer, the national teams will look to give their best at the upcoming UEFA Nations League 2024-25. Good performance in the Nations League also helps in preparation for the FIFA World Cup qualification matches, which will start just after the league phase of the UEFA-hosted tournament ends in November.

The UEFA Nations League 2024-25 will take place between September 5, 2024 and end on June 8, 2025.
