Since his sacking from Roma, the ex-Man United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed his return to football as he is all set to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce as the team’s new head coach. The contract will be two years long.

Up on his confirmation by the Turkish club, Jose Mourinho has sent a message to Fenerbahce fans as the club posted a video of his statement on Saturday night. According to The Guardian, Mourinho will be unveiled as the head coach at a ceremony at the club’s Sukru Saracoglu stadium on Sunday night.

“Merhaba [Hello] Fenerbahce fans! See you tomorrow at Kadikoy and let’s start our journey together”

Mourinho said in the video posted by the club.

On Saturday night, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United boss claimed the deal was not complete. However, a few hours later the club posted a video of Mourinho’s statement to the fans.

Mourinho takes over the Turkish club that secured the second spot in the Turkish Super Lig. Despite accumulating 99 points, Fenerbahce fell short of their great rivals Galatasaray and the title by just three points.

It’s important to note that Mourinho is now tasked with returning the club to the top of the tree. Mourinho has been officially announced by Fenerbahce with the caption “Mou Time” on X.

Notably, the club’s previous manager Kartal was part of only one loss in the league, but six draws didn’t help them as they lost the top spot in the table. He left the club on May 30, Friday, fuelling speculation that Mourinho was set to replace him.

Mourinho, renowned for his trophy-landed stints with clubs like Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and MU, now faces the challenge of guiding the Turkish giants to their first league title since 2013-14.
